Marina and The Diamonds

Marina Lambrini Diamandis (dee-a-man-dee) born 10 October 1985, known as Marina and the Diamonds (sometimes stylised as Marina & the diamonds), is a half-Greek half-Welsh singer-songwriter. Her voice is tremulous and rich with vibrato, makes over-all of her songs sounds perfectly quirky. I love it.

Diamandis calls herself a "DIY musician"and describes her sound as an alternative to mainstream pop music. In an interview with ClashMusic Diamandis said that she does not come from a musical background and explained
“I probably have a bit of a different sound because I don’t really know what I’m doing”
Lyrically, she says her music analyzes people and that if she wasn't a musician, she would be a psychologist.

I'm not a Robot is one of my favorite song from her album. It has an eccentric pop-rock touch and crazy decoration of synthesizers, animal impersonations, shrieking, and some funny voices.
She is really are irresistible.

The Noisettes

La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
And while the city sleeps,
I won't weep
Because I couldn't keep By boyfriend
And the summers end is here again
And the leaves are golden
Under the grand silver birch tree
Were-a thinking 'bout the people we meet
Dancing feet
Wasters on the cover of a magazine
People we kissed
People we lost and the ones that we might not ever remember
Whats the use
Cause I'm,
Not what I was last summer
Not who I was in the spring
Tell me tell me tell me
When will we learn
We love it and we leave it and we watch it burn
Damn these wild young hearts
Damn this wild young heart
Now that the city's awake, my heart aches
Oh what a silly mistake it seems I've made
You left your keys under my bed
Left a thumpin in my head
I would say sorry, what's the use

Cause, I'm not what I was last September
And I don't wear the same robes in May
We know we shouldn't do it, but we do it anyway
We know we might regret it but it seemed ok
Damn this wild young heart
Damn this wild young heart
Damn this wild young heart

If now is forever then what's to prove
Cause it won't be the same next summer
And I guess I'll see you in the spring
Somebody tell me, tell me, tell me, when will I learn
I love it and I leave it and I watch it burn
Damn this wild young heart
I told you damn this wild young heart
Damn this wild young
Tell me, tell me, tell me when will I learn
Damn this wild young heart

Noisettes certainly took an unconventional approach to starting songwriting. Fresh from tour in summer 2007, guitarist Dan Smith (a man known to pair silver trousers with a yellow, sequinned shirt) and bearded drummer Jamie Morrison (who still seems surprised to be in a band at all) began sonic experiments that involved getting stoned before trips to the Natural History Museum, then attempting to cover the likes of Britney’s Hit Me Baby (One More Time).

“Some bands stick with the same style forever,” says singer Shingai Shoniwa, whose versatile vocals have seen her compared to everyone from Deborah Harry and Kate Bush to Billie Holiday and Diana Ross. “They get together because they share identical musical tastes, then never do anything different. We’re a gang, but we’re also three divas with different record collections who constantly introduce each other to new sounds, whether it’s African music, jazz, Van Morrison or Black Sabbath. For us, making music means keeping our ears open.”

Florence + The Machine

Florence + The Machine, another quirky band from London with DOPE low budget video clips.
I accidentally bump into their video klip "DRUMMING SONG". And i was stunned with how their video klip executed. It's fascinating, with a very yummy tone.

Florence + the Machine's sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including soul, indie rock and experimental. Not familiar with them?
Try to listen "Kiss with fist". This song had been featured in Jennifer's Body OST.
The Times described her as "the most peculiar and most highly acclaimed female singer of the moment" and "the latest in a line of great English pop eccentrics".

can't get over this video!!

Tanjung Bira Getaway

2010 It's been a hectic year so far.
It's a turn back point from my 2009. A lot of achievement had been accomplish in this year.
Yet, this is a really frustrating year especially for a clueless fresh graduate like me.
Job, it's seems like an easy word to pronounce. Well, it is. But when reality shows u what is JOB really are, u will never thought that 3 letters will be so much easier to pronounce than to find.
JOB, it's everywhere. It's there. But the problem is, the JOB that served in front of our face
rarely suits our expectation. Most of it BELOW expectation.
I can't say that i am not really proud with my self. I thought i'll find a job straight a way after i graduated. Well, it turns the other way around.

But i'm afraid the best thing i could do right now is enjoy whatever i got and stop blaming my self for what i can't achieve. Coz i realize that sometimes i have to give my self reward for what i CAN achieve instead of cursing my flaws.

Last year, i had a plan to visit my best friend Ghea in her hometown MAKASAR-SULAWESI.
But it is always a wishful thinking until last 22nd January 2010, when i decide spontaneously to make my wish come true. With my housemate Meth and Ghea's housemate; Ila we went there for a perfect getaway to one of the most beautiful Bay : Bira Bay.
This bay offers nothing but a paradise ; white sand beach, blue sky, beautiful coral reefs, clean sea, romantic resort, starry night, and a very pleasant getaway.
This is a perfect reward for my self, even though i have to burn my self a little. It is still worth every pain.

So here it is, i present to you : BIRA BAY, everyone.
